The bottom line
The Major Fitness Drone2 Advanced Training Smith Machine is our top pick for its all-in-one design, high weight capacity, and positive owner feedback. The RitFit M1 Pro Smith Machine is a close runner-up, offering similar features at a higher price. For those on a budget, the JELENS SR01 Smith Machine is a solid, though less versatile, option at a fraction of the cost.

Serious home gym enthusiasts looking for a comprehensive workout solution should consider the Major Fitness Drone2 or RitFit M1 Pro. Those on a budget or with limited space may find the JELENS SR01 to be a suitable, though less versatile, option.
Common complaints
Owners of the Major Fitness Drone2 have noted that the bumper plate holders are located on the rear of the machine, which some find inconvenient. Additionally, the lowest setting for deadlifts is slightly too high for some users.
Also-rans
The Mikolo Smith Machine with Weight Stack, while innovative, lacks sufficient evidence to compete with the top picks. Its unique pulley configuration and dual weight stack system are interesting, but the limited owner feedback and lack of expert reviews make it a risky choice.
